The City of Apopka is made up of approximately 30 square miles with more than 45,000 residents and has the longest serving mayor in the state of Florida: Mayor John H. Land, who has been at the helm for over 50 years.
Apopka, meaning “potato eating place” was given its name by its Native American inhabitants.
Apopa has done an amazing job maintaining its old florida charm and is located only 12 miles from Orlando approximately 40 minutes from Orlando International Airport.
The beautiful citrus groves in Apopka are beginning to share space with exciting new businesses launching throughout town making for a mixture of classic Old Apopka while introducing the wonder of tomorrow’s Apopka. New roads are under construction in Apopka including the new Apopka Bypass that will reduce some of Highway 441’s traffic.
